A modern knapped art piece, in the style of the Solutrean Laurel bipointed knives/points of the European Ice Age, during a period of around 17,000 to 22,000 years ago in the areas around where France and Spain are today. It measures 5 and 1/4th inches long/132mm, and 38mm at widest, and only 4mm max thickness. It was made in a grey/tan Texas flint, and was shaped to the basic form of a Solutrean "laurel" which is one of the classic tool types of the period. This culture often left in such points in caches, and known as some of the finest flintknapping in history. The bipointed or laurel shape is common throughout the entire world in some similar form, and the archaeology studies show that many of these are commonly used as knives, which this shape lends itself too. This art piece is diamond scribe signed, to help protect the archaeological record, and clearly mark it as modern piece.
