A restored VINTAGE boomerang, that is a true returner.  It is extremely large, at over 2 feet across, so putting it barely in the realm of something that could be used for hunting in air(birds.bats..), but still can be considered in the SPORT category now.  It is just traditional enough though, that we thought it had a place at Occpaleo, since based on traditional skills and materials. This was discovered in a public sale being sold as collectable from Australia.  It was picked up immediately when noted that it was NOT a modern  plywood cut, and appeared to be made in true Australian Black Wattle wood(a traditional authentic wood for Aborigine boomerang making) and also a natural elbow bend, which the strongest and ONLY traditional shape.  The boomerang was tested and tuned with a heat bend until it returned well and predictablly.  An extremely large modern boomerang at 24 inches across, it is partly refinished, as old tourist paint was removed, until the level where any more removal might change the shape of the original wood airfoils. It was near functional readiness, and only needed some heat tuning, without altering with wood removal.  Remnants of old tourist paint show, and can be sanded further if desired.  It is ready now without any cracks or problems, and an actual returner. Video shows return on a humid and low wind day and flying low, but always a return back with slight weather adjustments.  Catches were common, when not having a camera filming in one hand.
